Victoria’s Most Exciting Wine Region
The Upper Goulburn is a diverse, super premium, wine region, where most of the vineyards are planted at elevations of between 300 and 500 metres, and are often blanketed with snow in winter. Here the cool climate and frequent frosts keep yields low thus concentrating flavour and contributing complexity.
Chardonnay is the major white wine of the region. It has considerable weight and richness, showing flavours of stone fruit, nectarine, citrus, and melon. The riesling and gewürztraminer wines are superbly elegant and aromatic, while the sauvignon blanc is tangy, crisp and racy.
The red wines are refined and textured, with complex cool climate flavours sometimes reminiscent of Europe. Pinot noir is popular with different styles from strawberry and cherry flavours on the higher slopes, to the richer plum flavours lower down. The shiraz wines have reached a high standard and regularly win medals. They are fine, perfumed, elegant, and represent great value. The region also produces some remarkable sparkling wines. The Upper Goulburn Wine Region is a exciting to explore for wines that are interesting, diverse, and very good value.

 Buxton
Ridge is a premium wine producer located at Buxton in the
beautiful Acheron Valley. It currently has 5 wines available,
The Wolf Ruediger Shiraz, Lorna Grace Pinot Noir, Michael
Wolf Merlot, Katie Maree Sauvignon Blanc and Molly Jean Blanc
de Noir Sparkling Pinot Noir. All our wines are 100% estate
grown, we don’t irrigate or use fertilisers and we crop
at between 1.5 to 2 tonnes per acre. We strive to have a low
environmental footprint.

 Tallarook
is situated on an elevated yet protected site at 200-300m,
among rugged hills on the northern slopes of the Great Dividing
Range. Established first in the 1980's, and purchased in 1992
by the Riebl family, these vineyards are now planted with
the Northern Rhone varietals of Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier
and Shiraz as well as Chardonnay. The wines produced from
these vines represent a pioneering effort for the Tallarook
district.

to produce fine cool climate wines that are regionally distinctive

Sedona Estate has grown to a 2000 case annual wine production
